The draw against the Knights in the end was probably a fair result with both sides missing chances. Boys remember 3 things when shooting, head over the ball, it doesnt have to blow the net off and make the keeper save it.
An ex centre forward for the Gully that the oldies would rememberwas Peter Szach who would score regulary using these principles.

As an interested spectator I have been watching from the sideline the progress of the senior squad. I am seeing a disiplined, organised and fit young squad (except Hass, although he is fit and still a champion) playing some of the best soccer I have seen for a number of years.
Absolutly smashed San Marco on Sunday, a delight to watch, everyone stood up and played smart soccer.Acredit to the coach on what he has acheived through the season so far, including the pre season. A shame that the ressies got done but I know they will turn that around.
Good luck for the season. GO THE GULLIES |

Id like to introduce myself to those who dont know me. I will be coaching the Seniors at TTG in season 2009. I would first like to thank Damian Hassell for his efforts with the team last year and also for his support since my appointment its very helpful and appreciated. I also welcome the return of Damien Kuypers who once again will coach the reserves and Assist me with the First team.
Our number 1 goal this year is promotion. We have come close in the last few seasons so its time to go 1 better. I believe with retaining the majoity of last years playing squad (Both A's & B's) it will be a step in the right direction then add onto that a few new players that have come out for a look and seem keen on staying we have the makings of a great squad.
Pre season is underway and we have had limited numbers out in the first 3 or 4 sessions but last nights training was a better turn out and there are still a couple more that we havent seen yet. So every Wednesday and Friday we will be training. As for trial games so far confirmed are:
SUN Feb 15th Away to Brahma Lodge
SUN Feb 22nd Away to Modbury Jets Amateurs
WED March 4th Away to Playford Patriots
SUN March 15th Home to Salisbury Florina
SUN March 22nd Home to Elizabeth Downs
***Please note these games may change***
The season starts on Sunday March the 29th at this stage the draw isnt out.
Finally Id like to thank the TTG Soccer club and its committee for appointing me as Senior Coach for season 2009. Im looking forward to a good competative season. I hope our supporters will come out in numbers and support us throughout the year. if you have any questions feel free to come and speak to me or call me on 0447 503 095. |
