| I was part of the A team that played from 1981 to 1989. During this period we won division 1 twice, I think, and the coca cola cup.My most memorable game was when we beat West Aelaide in the Federation Cup only to go on and loose to Cumberland in the quarter final. Some of the players that were around this period were Alan Tarry, Alan Roydhouse, Peter Szach, Mark Flitcroft, Brian Nutall, Alan White, the Larke brothers, the Ashely brothers, Grant Harford, Rob Freeman, Jonny Talarico and the list could on. |

Greetings from far far away! I am Joern "John" Rosenthal, now 50 years old and living in the beautiful city of Hamburg, Germany. I lived on Glen Street (now Glendale St), Surrey Downs from 1965 though 1970 and I'm proud to say that I was a founding member of Fairview Park Junior Soccer Club. I was a scholar at Banksia Park Primary when Mr. Flack, the founder of FPJSC fielded players in 1965. I attended the first ever training session at Golden Grove Oval and remaind with the club until September 1970, when my parents decided for us to return to Germany. At the time, I played as a fullback with David Flack and the Tary Brothers Alan and David and was captain of the under 13 and under 14 teams. I was fielded for the EDJSA squads in '69 and '70. I played my last game for FPJSC in September '70. My black and white shirt is still among the relics of the good old times.
The best of luck to all of you and we'll see the Socceroos here in Germany soon!
Joern |
